The Public Trustee protects the interests of road traffic accident victims who have suffered personal injuries under the Motor Vehicles (Third-Party Risks & Compensation) Act (Cap. 189). He examines the adequacy of out-of-court settlements of compensation, ensures that all solicitor's fees and disbursements are reasonable and distributes the compensation monies to the persons entitled. Submission of Motor Accident Compensation Settlement is one of the eServices under IPTO's Public Trustee eServices. It allows authorised officers of Solicitor Firms or other Organisations to submit the application electronically.
This eService is free-of-charge.

Note:
Where the accident involves multiple victims, separate applications are to be made for each victim.

 1. Main Page
 
  a.
Depending on your role appointed, you will be able to Create New Case, Edit, Delete or View pending submissions. You will only be able to submit a case if you have been given the role of a submitter by your Organisation Account Administrator.
 
 
  b.
To create new case for Motor Accident Compensation Settlement, please click on Create New Case icon.
 
 
  c.
This page will display all the pending submissions that belong to your organisation. For each pending case submission, key information like Accident Date, Injured Name, Last Updated By and Last Updated Date/ Time will be displayed. Each pending case will be retained in the system for ONLY 7 calendar days.
 
 
  d.
Click on Edit to modify details previously entered in pending submissions.
 
 
e.
Click on Delete to delete a pending submission. You will be prompted to confirm the deletion. Click on [Ok] to delete the Case or [Cancel] to cancel the action.

 2. Case Profile of Accident Victim
 
 
a.
You can provide the correspondence address of Accident Victim either on the Local Address or Foreign Address section. Please DO NOT enter both.
 
(i) Local Address
P lease enter your Block or House Number, Level, Unit and Postal Code. You are not required to enter the Street Name as it will be auto-retrieved at the Transaction Summary page..

The Public Trustee cannot administer the accident compensation monies if the total General Damages does not exceed $5,000.00 after deduction on liability. As such if the answer is 'No' to the question "Is the General Damages more than $5,000.00 after liability?", an error message will be displayed and you cannot proceed any further.

 3. Related Cases Arising from Same Accident
 
 
This section is applicable to an accident which results in two or more victims. Separate applications must be made in respect of each victim.
 
 
a.
If this is a new first Case (first submission in respect of the accident), you are not required to enter this section as there has been no prior submission.
 
 
b.
For all subsequent submissions in relation to the same accident, you must enter all PT's Reference No. that were allocated for the previous submissions arising from the same accident. This applies also to previous submissions made in the same login session.
 
 
 
c.
Where you are require to enter more than three related cases, you will be able to enter the additional related cases after clicking the Next 3 links at the bottom of the table.
 
 
d.

4.  Solicitor Particulars
 
  a.
Name of Firm, Email Address, Contact No. and Fax No. will be auto retrieved and displayed (if available).
 
 
  b.
To reduce the effort of entering the same information for different sections, the system will auto-display the following fields according to the specified capacity in which you are submitting the application:
 
 
   
- For "Insurer", the Firm Name and File Reference Number will be auto-displayed in the Insurer Particulars Page.
 
 
   
- For "Defendant", the Firm Name, Company Type and Company/ Business Registering Number will be auto-displayed in the Defendant Particulars Page. 
 
 
   
- For "Defendant's Solicitor", the Law Firm Name and File Reference Number will be auto-populated for the Solicitor Acting for Defendant section in the Defendant Particulars Page.

Enter the details of the Previous Solicitors, and if there are more than 5 Previous Solicitors, you can enter the additional solicitor details after clicking on the Next 5 link at the bottom of the page.

 5. Breakdown of General Damages
 
  a. This is a compulsory page to be entered when submitting a Case.  
 
  b. All amounts must be in numeric format without any ',' or '$' symbols. E.g. 1000 and not 1,000 or $1000.  
 
  c. The Percentage of Liability can be 0 or any figure less than 100.  
 
  d. To auto compute the Amount after Liability based on the Percentage of Liability, please click on the icon as shown:

b.

- Internet Banking (Citibank, DBS/POSB, OCBC or UOB)
 
 
  c. Upon each successful payment, a transaction completion page will appear. This page serves to confirm that the submission was successful.

Upon successful submission, a File Reference No. (AC/NNNNN-NNNN-X) and an E-Filing No. will be generated. Please print out a copy for your record purposes. In all subsequent correspondences with the Public Trustee please cite this File Reference No.
