The Administration of a Deceased's Estate (CPF Monies) is one of the eServices offered under IPTO's Public Trustee eServices. It allows public users to apply to the Public Trustee to administer estates (CPF Monies) of deceased persons.

 1. Guidelines for Completion
 
 
a. This page provides some of the important guidelines to take note before you proceed with the application.
 
b. You will be able to Create a new application, Edit, Delete or View applications that are pending submission.
 
c. To create a new application for the Administration of a Deceased's Estate, the applicant must provide the NRIC/ Passport no. Type and ID Number of the Deceased before clicking on Newicon.
 
d. The page will display all the applications that are pending submission which you have created. Each pending application will be retained in the system for ONLY 7 calendar days.
 
e. If you have submitted an application for the Administration of Deceased Estate (Assets other than CPF Monies) electronically prior to this application for the same Deceased, your particulars, the Deceased's particulars as well as the Beneficiaries' particulars will be retrieved. These information will be displayed at the respective pages.
 
f. Click on Edit to modify details previously entered in a pending application.
 
g. Click on Delete to delete a pending application. You will be asked to confirm the deletion. Click on [Ok] to delete the application or [Cancel] to cancel the action.
 
h. Usage of Buttons :
 
Back : Brings you to the previous page.
Next : Verification of the information will begin after you click on the [Next] button. After verification, the system will proceed to the next page.
Submit : The information you entered will be submitted.
Save & Exit : Verification of the information will begin after you click on the [Save & Exit] button. After verification, information that you have entered will be saved into the database and the system will proceed to the Guidelines for Completion Page.
Clear Page : Clears the information for the current page.
Cancel : You can abort the transaction by clicking on the [Cancel] button.

 2. Questions
 
a. Please note that if the Public Trustee does not have any cases on the deceased CPF Monies, you will not be able to proceed further.
b. If the CPF Monies of the Deceased is $6,000.00 or less, you will be asked whether the Claimant for Funeral Expenses would like to be reimbursed of the amount from the deceased's CPF Monies. If the application is solely for Funeral Expenses reimbursement, you are not required to provide the Next of Kin information.

 3. Particulars of Deceased & Applicant
 
 
a. This page allows you to enter the details of the deceased and applicant.
 
b. You will not be required to provide the identification number /NRIC /Passport Number of the deceased.
 
c. You will be asked to provide information such as deceased's death date, death certificate number etc.

 4. Particulars of Next of Kin
 
 
a. These pages require you to enter the details of the Deceased's next of kin.
 
b. If the Deceased is a Non-Muslim, the Next of Kin comprise: Father, Mother, Spouse, Children, Siblings and Others. If a particular next of kin is not applicable, click on the checkbox provided in each section to indicate this.

If the Deceased is a Muslim, you will only be requested to enter the details of Next of Kin under the Other Next of Kin page.

 
c. In Children, Siblings and Others pages, you can :-
 
(i) Click on Add to add another new beneficiary.
(ii) Click on Edit to modify the details of a particular beneficiary.
(iii) Click on Delete to delete the details of a particular beneficiary. You will be prompted to confirm the deletion. Click on [Ok] to proceed with the deletion or [Cancel] to cancel the action.
 
d. Enter all the required information.
 
e. You can proceed to the other pages by clicking on the [Next] button or other TABs.

 5. Funeral Expenses
 
 
a. This page allows you to enter the claimant's information for reimbursement of funeral expenses from the deceased's estate. Please note that the total amount to be reimbursed cannot exceed $6,000.00 (inclusive of that filed under Administration of Deceased Estate (Assets other than CPF Monies)).
 
b. Enter all the required information.
 
c. You can proceed to the other pages by clicking on the [Next] button or other TABs.

 6. Transaction Summary & Submission of Documents
 
 
a. This page displays the details of your application before you proceed to submit the application.
 
b. Please ensure that all the details are correct.
 
c. Documents should only be attached just before submission. Only documents of the PDF, GIF and JPG formats will be accepted.
 
d. Verification of the details of your application and the document(s) you attached will begin after you click on the [Submit] button.
 
e. If you need to make any amendments, click on the [Back] button to go back to the previous pages. Otherwise, click on the [Submit] button to complete the submission.
 
f. You can proceed to the other pages by clicking on the [Next] button or other TABs.

 7. Transaction Completion
 
 
Upon a successful submission, this page will be displayed. A File Reference Number and an E-Filing Number will be generated for your reference. The details of your application will be displayed. You should print out this page for your reference.

 8. Documents to be Submitted where the estate would be distributed
 
  Where the estate to be distributed belongs to a non-Muslim
 
 
a.
Where the deceased was single, please submit the following:
 
(i) Deceased's death certificate and birth certificate
 
(ii) Parents' identity cards, their marriage certificate or Decree Nisi Absolute if divorced and front page of bank account passbook or bank account statement indicating the bank account number
 
(iii) If parents of the deceased are no longer living, their marriage certificate, death certificates and birth certificates of the siblings of the deceased, identity cards and front page of bank account passbook or bank account statement indicating the bank account number
 
 
 
b.
If deceased was married without children, please submit the following:
 
(i) Deceased's death certificate and birth certificate
 
(ii) Parents' identity cards, marriage certificate or Decree Nisi Absolute if divorced and front page of bank account passbook or bank account statement indicating the bank account number. If parents of deceased are no longer living, their marriage certificate and death certificate
 
(iii) Marriage certificate or Decree Nisi Absolute if divorced, spouse's identity card and front page of bank account passbook or bank account statement indicating the bank account number. If spouse is deceased, their marriage certificate and death certificate
 
 
 
c.
If deceased was married with children, please submit the following:
 
(i) Deceased's death certificate
 
(ii) Marriage certificate or Decree Nisi Absolute if divorced, spouse's identity card and front page of bank account passbook or bank account statement indicating the bank account number. If spouse is deceased, their marriage certificate and death certificate
 
(iii) Children's (including children of previous marriage) birth certificates, identity cards and front page of bank account passbook or bank account statement indicating the bank account number
 
 
 
d.
In addition to the above documents, you must also provide the following:
 
(i) Identity card of applicant (Applicant must be 21 years old and above)
 
(ii) For reimbursement of funeral expenses, relevant receipts and claimant's identity card and bank account passbook or bank account statement indicating the bank account number
 
(iii) Any other declaration or testimonial from the proper authority establishing the legal heir of deceased (applicable to foreigners)
 
 
  Where the estate to be distributed belongs to a Muslim, please provide a copy of the following:
 
 
a.
Inheritance Certificate from Syariah Court (website: http://www.syariahcourt.gov.sg)
 
 
 
b.
Death certificate of deceased
 
 
 
c.
Documents to show beneficiaries' relationship with deceased (e.g marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc)
 
 
 
d.
Identity cards/ birth certificates of beneficiaries
 
 
 
e.
Identity card of applicant (Applicant must be 21 years old and above)
 
 
 
f.
Front page of beneficiaries' bank account passport or bank account statement indicating the account number
 
 
 
g.
Any other declaration or testimonial from the proper authority establishing the legal heir of deceased (applicable to foreigners)

 9. List of Next of Kin
 
 
If the deceased was a Non-Muslim, the Public Trustee will distribute the deceased's CPF monies in accordance with the Intestate Succession Act (Cap. 146). Section 7 provides for the following rules of distribution:

The monies will be paid out within 1 month after receiving the completed Application Form and all required documents.

If the beneficiary of the deceased's unnominated CPF monies is under the age of 21 years, the Public Trustee will hold the minor's share in trust until he attains the age of 21 years, whereupon the monies will be released to him.
